My wife gave me my first pair of Cody James cowboy boots for Valentine’s Day, and I was extremely happy with them. The boots were top-notch and exquisite in every detail. I was genuinely impressed. Because I liked them so much, I decided to order a second pair of Cody James boots — the Chelsea boots — to wear in my clinic. I ordered them directly from the CodyJames.com website and received them about a week later. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed when they arrived. The boots appear unfinished and possibly worn. There is a 1.5" × 1" abrasion on the leather on the medial side of the left boot, which looks like something like sandpaper rubbed against the leather, damaging it. Secondly, my understanding is that these boots have a rubber sole. Fine. However, the the cut of the sole quality appears very mediocre. I can clearly see where the heel was cut improperly during manufacturing. The cut is uneven, and it looks like the machining was done poorly. Honestly, it looks like I would need to take an X-Acto knife from my garage just to trim the sole properly. Do you have a cobbler make these boots or it it just a machine?? These boots appear to have been made in haste and are nothing like the Cody James boots I received as my Valentine’s Day gift. The Chelsea boots feel cheap and are very disappointing. I can try to send pictures, but I think my memory limit is 3MB per attachment. Because of this experience, I am considering trying Chelsea boots from Ariat instead.
